Pakistan Tehreek Insaf (PTI) will file a case against all police officers involved in the illegal search operation and violence at former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s residence in Zaman Park. The party’s senior vice president and former information minister Fawad Chowdhury said this on Sunday. They allege that Imran Khan left home for the Islamabad Judicial Complex in the Toshakhana case the previous day. Soon after, the Punjab Police broke the main gate of his residence and entered and arrested several party leaders. Fawad Chowdhury said on Twitter that the party has called a meeting with the legal team. Police entered Imran Khan’s residence defying Lahore High Court order. All kinds of laws have been violated in this case. Items were stolen. They carried different juice boxes. Innocent people have been tortured.
The party leader also wrote that what happened in Islamabad is due to the ongoing constitutional crisis in the country.
On the other hand, a case was filed against around 102 PTI workers on Sunday for assaulting the police while searching Imran Khan’s residence. A case has been filed against these activists under 13 different laws, including terrorism and attempted murder. According to the FIR, the police team entered Imran Khan’s residence with a search warrant issued by the Anti-Terrorism Court. It is also said that 300 unidentified activists attacked the police. They threw petrol bombs. After that the police brought them under control.
