John Travolta shares tribute to Olivia Newton-John on late star’s birthday

John Travolta penned an emotional tribute to his late buddy and former “Grease” co-star Olivia Newton-John on what would have been her 74th birthday.

The Aussie actress died at age 73 on Aug. 8 following an extended battle with breast most cancers.

Newton-John was first identified with most cancers in 1992 and once more in 2013 and 2017. The illness subsequently progressed to stage 4, and he or she managed the pain with medical marijuana.

Taking a second to pay his respects on his late buddy’s birthday, Travolta, 68, wished Newton-John a cheerful birthday with a throwback snap of the pair within the hit 1978 movie.

“Happy birthday my Olivia,” he wrote alongside the snap on his Instagram Story.

The pair, who each met on the set of the movie after touchdown starring roles, developed a robust friendship that remained till her loss of life final month.

After information of her loss of life got here to gentle, Travolta was the first A-lister to pay tribute to his beloved pal on social media.

In 2018, Travolta advised People journal that the large success of their flick had helped them keep linked.

“When you share that sort of meteoric success — and nothing has been ready to exceed it— you share a bond,” he said. “I’ve been by means of her having a toddler, getting divorced, shedding her sister. She’s been by means of my getting married, and having kids. It’s fantastic and stuffed with shared recollections.”
