North Korea claims 800,000 citizens have volunteered to join or re-enlist in the military to fight the United States. North Korea’s official media reported this information on Saturday.
The Rodong Sinmun newspaper reported that on Friday alone, nearly eight million students and activists across the country expressed their willingness to join or re-enlist in the military to fight against the United States.
The newspaper said, ‘The growing enthusiasm of the younger generation to join the army is a demonstration of the unyielding will of the young generation to ruthlessly exterminate the war lunatics from our precious socialist country and to achieve the great cause of national reunification.’
North Korea made the claim as it test-fired the Hsong-17 intercontinental ballistic missile on Thursday in response to ongoing US-South Korea military exercises. The missile was fired into the sea between the Korean Peninsula and Japan.
